Bas relief – plaster
To form the mold, I used plasticine as the preliminary form, then created a plastic mold from that. The plastic mold was used for the plaster, and from there I carved out the horse. I have always been interested in early 20th century carousels, and this horse in particular is from the original Griffith Park carousel built in 1926.
